Hi, I’m Kimiya Kitani, a member of WordCamp Kansai 2016.<\/p>\n

Today, I’m glad to be able to introduce the second story for the 3D Wapuu!
\nKassy-san, a member of WordCamp Kansai 2016, is the 3D Wapuu’s creator of WordCamp Kansai 2016. And then, he started the serialized report at this site.<\/p>\n

The second theme is “Let’s challenge to print the 3D Wapuu to the 3D Printer!”.
\n(The first story is here<\/a>).<\/p>\n

I would like to introduce the second story<\/a> in English.<\/p>\n

Hi, I’m Kassy, a member of WordCamp Kansai 2016.<\/p>\n

Well, my challenge for printing out a 3D Wapuu by a 3D printer kicked off by the drinks force.
\nWhat’s the next step I should?<\/p>\n

Get the permission to use a 3D printer!<\/h2>\n

The 3D printer is unknown territory for me, so I need to talk to my friend who have it.
\nFortunately, I got the permission to use the 3D printer. Thank you for the cooperation!<\/p>\n

Create Output data<\/h2>\n

Next step, I need to create the 3D output data.<\/p>\n

I have improved it for a long time…<\/p>\n

The special feature is to give a 3D appearance by extruding the part of the logo.<\/p>\n

Finally, let’s challenge to print the 3D Wapuu to the 3D Printer!<\/p>\n

\nI thought a 3D printer is very expensive, but the model is reasonable! Of course, it isn’t never cheap. Thank you very much for my friend’s cooperation!<\/p>\n

In case of printing out by the PC to this 3D printer, the software “MakerBot Desktop” is used.<\/p>\n

I imported the Wapuu’s 3D modeling data to the software.<\/p>\n

\nAnd then, I read the manual and tried various operations.
\nRaft? I see. It’s better to make the basis under the Wapuu…
\nSupport? I see. It’s better to make the columnar support…<\/p>\n

I adjusted the data with the Raft and the Support.<\/p>\n

Well, let’s print out!!<\/p>\n

Wheeen… Wheeen … Pip Pip Pip ….<\/p>\n

\nUmmmm. It takes for a long time!<\/p>\n

But, there was no way of knowing that it was beginning of the nightmare regarding printing error..<\/p>\n
